Michelle M. O’Brien

Michelle is a Partner in the firm’s litigation department where she specializes in insurance defense and coverage matters in addition to commercial litigation.  Michelle handles a variety of civil litigation matters from intake through appeal. She regularly handles jury trials to verdict, and strives to strike the appropriate balance between early resolutions, where appropriate, and zealous advocacy on behalf of her clients, when needed.  In addition to her depth of experience with the defense of personal injury matters, Michelle also handles employment matters and professional liability matters with an emphasis on legal malpractice and ethics grievances based upon underlying actions in several areas of practice and subject matters. In addition to various insurance companies and corporations, Michelle also frequently represents small businesses and governmental entities in a variety of litigation matters. Michelle creates detailed case evaluations to assist clients making strategic litigation decisions and coverage advice to facilitate claim resolution.  Michelle develops and implements litigation strategies to successfully resolve matters and address the needs of clients, with consideration for the costs and benefits associated with litigation and pending claims.
