SUMMARY OF PRACTICE
Peter Falivene received his B.A. degree from Vanderbilt University in 1993 and his J.D. from Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey School of Law – Newark in 1996.
Peter earned his Master of Law (LL.M.) in Taxation from Villanova University School of Law and his Master of Law (LL.M.) in Elder Law and Estate Planning from Western New England University School of Law. Peter also participated in the summer study program affiliated with the London School of Economics Vanderbilt-In-London, London, England.
After graduating from Rutgers School of Law – Newark, Peter worked for major accounting firms and as in-house tax counsel for large multinational corporations. Peter brings a wealth of legal knowledge and experience to serve the needs of his individual and corporate clients.
Peter joined Flanagan, Barone & O’Brien in November of 2025 in an Of Counsel capacity. Peter has more than twenty-five (25) years of experience specializing in legal matters for both individual and corporate clients. Peter’s extensive experience and knowledge will enable him to assist the firm’s individual clients with tax planning and estate, as well as elder care issues. He can also assist our corporate clients with effective tax strategies and corporate formations.
Prior to joining Flanagan, Barone & O’Brien, LLC, from 2004-2021, Peter worked for Novartis where he represented Novartis affiliates on various international, federal and state tax law matters and provided guidance on new tax laws impacting business operations. At Novartis, he was responsible for identifying, implementing and defending tax savings strategies.
Subsequent to Novartis, Peter worked at law firms specializing in estate planning and administrations, formation of trusts and charitable foundations, preparation of New Jersey Inheritance Tax Returns, as well as Federal Gift and Estate Tax filings and property tax appeals for residential and commercial clients.
Peter is admitted to practice in New Jersey and New York.
